In the digital age in which we exist on multiple platforms in real life and on the internet, we are presented with near infinite ways to communicate who we are while simultaneously being constricted to the binary formatting of cyber-reality. Living fluidly in transition between the avatars, the fractured snapshots of invented selves, one adapts spiritually and emotionally in order to maintain some sense of center.
Soft Usurpers is a multi-disciplinary art exhibition and performance showcase exploring the many functions of role play in our everyday lives.
We’d like to thank all collaborators for contributing their responses to the questions we posed around identity, performance, and expressions of the self.
Extra special thanks to Cloud Nagy and Earth Arts Center for hosting this event and opening their doors to us.
We believe that intentional celebration of the soft acts, everyday movements toward self-actualization, is vital to a healthy and vibrant transformation of society.
Today we reflect and revel in the creative process of coping in the Millenialocalypse. We enter into these conversations as parts to the whole responding and exploring, believing and breathing. Thank you for supporting art and community
